This film is one of the craziest and best films I have ever seen.
That Oscar wins that this film got last year, was thoroughly deserved. Bong Joon-Ho ought to be proud of how well the film turned out and more.
He has certainly gained himself a new fan in me after watching this movie. Usually, I do this at the end of my article, but I would strongly encourage you to watch this film. It is a masterpiece and a film that won't be forgotten in a hurry in this era.
First things first, how about the cinematography? The colours? The locations? They looked stunning, the aesthetics of the film could not have been more perfect. I think the visual aspect of the film was breath-taking. Not only that, it gave such a melancholic vibe about the film, you were seeing the unjustness of society yet the way that it looked was incredible. Talk about a dilemma.
The pacing of the storyline, it was like you were going through a song or a sonnet or a poem, whatever lyrical wax that fits your ideals. Bong Joon-Ho, was conducting the film- he was taking us on a journey and you don’t know the destination that you're headed in, you just have to trust him that the destination is the right place. You see all kinds of things throughout the journey, the kind of stuff that completely blindsides you, things that excite you, that sadden you. And the end of the destination? It's worth it, believe me.
I don’t feel as though there was one stand-alone actor, I believe that all cast members that were involved did such an incredible job. I found it poignant to see the disparity of class displayed through the two families. What I found interesting was that there was no general cliché (okay maybe except for two characters) in terms of how the families were portrayed.

The ultra-rich family was not snobbish or alienating to others around them. Usually, that’s the vibe that you get in such films, the same goes for the working-class family, they were not portrayed in a way that could be demeaning to working-class families. It did not feel fake or out of touch the way that both sides were portrayed.
It was like you were viewing two different worlds. The relationships amongst the two family members were incredibly authentic and relatable in some way, which is why the performances all the more powerful.
